there National company of the Rhône opened in 2010 two locks at Brens, two locks in Chautagne, thus creating a navigable waterway of 50 km on the Haut-Rhône, with the crossing of hydroelectric plants located on these localities.

The 4 identical locks (Freycinet template with 39 m long SAS for 5.2 m wide) make some 1 000 cycles but for use, the electric cylinders operating the doors became defective: buckling and binding of the rods, problems sealing, vibration of gearmotors...
