Promise kept! In 2018, MECAN-HYDRO wins the public contract to replace the Nassau guard house (which accuses its 70 years of loyal service) and entrusts the motorization part to IVEA! The project description by the owner Parks Canada "The construction site consists of the installation of protective valves in the canal just above Nassau Mills Road. And the creation of a bern in the ground closely esaking the outline of this path. Open in spring, summer and fall, the door will be closed in winter. In the event of a major flood, it will redirect water to the Otanabee River, protecting homes, businesses and critical infrastructure adjacent to the canal.
